Our Sweet Miracle

Our sweet Judson was finally born on Friday, February 12, 2010 weighing 8lbs 5oz and was 21in long. We are so excited to have him here in person and part of our family!!!! The process of him getting here though was not an easy one.

My labor and delivery with both my girls were pretty quick and easy, so of course I figured my third would be just as fast if not faster. Boy was I wrong!!! I had been having contractions for days but they just wouldn't stay consistent. Finally on Thursday about 11:00am they started getting stronger and were getting closer together. So about 2:00pm we headed to the hospital. When we got there I was just a 1, but I knew with my girls once I started I would just go quick. They "observed" me for 2 hours and by the end of the observation time I was a 3 so they decided to keep me. I was thinking I would have a baby in the middle of the night. A few hours later they checked again and I was still a 3! I stayed a 3 for about 15 hours!!!! It was miserable and so disappointing. Finally about 10:00am Friday I started moving along and by 2:00 I was about a 5 and then by 2:20 I was a 7. Not 5 min later I knew it was time and was very ready to push. They said I had to wait 5 min for my doctor and I didn't think there was any way I could do that, but after helping me breathe through that 5 min (that seemed like hours) my doctor arrived and it was time!!!

He was right there so I knew I wouldn't have to push but a couple times and with my girls I only had to push once or twice so I knew it wouldn't be long. After about 2 pushes his head came out but when it did so did a TON of meconium. I could see the concern on my doctors face and the urgency to get him out. I started to push again but he was face down and his shoulders were straight instead of turned so it was very difficult to get him out and my doctor was trying to get him out as quickly as possible.

He finally came out and my doctor noticed that he had an extremely short cord. She tried to lay him on me but he could barely reach. While they were cutting the cord I noticed that he was extremely blue, almost black and they couldn't get him to cry. As soon as the cord was cut they rushed him to the bed in front where the baby's nurses were. He still wasn't crying. I started to panic.

They proceeded to bag him but it didn't work, the tried to put tubes down him but couldn't even get them down. Then they started CPR and the next thing I knew they called in the specialist and she immediately called for Code Blue and yelled for a crash cart. Johnny and I just sat there watching the whole thing sobbing and scared to death, thinking we were gonna lose our sweet Judson. The seconds seemed like hours! I couldn't even tell you how long it actually went on because it seemed like forever. We were just both praying that the Lord would save Judson and make him breathe! As soon as they walked in with the crash cart we heard the most beautiful noise ever....he finally cried! It wasn't a big cry but it was a cry! They continued to work on him and we continued to pray. As they worked on him, his cries got louder and stronger and his color began to return. The Lord had saved our precious baby boy!!!!

After awhile they told us that my short cord was just like a baby coming out with the cord wrapped around their neck. That as he came out the cord was stretched therefore cutting off all oxygen. Then he swallowed the meconium that came out with him and his lungs were filled with the fluid.

Words can't even describe how scary it was for us to watch and to see our baby like that, but we are so grateful for a God that is sovereign and takes care of us. Within seconds of Judson's birth he got to be a miracle and have an incredible testimony to share of how great our God is!!!

He is doing great now! You would never know anything went wrong and we are so grateful that he is here and is part of our family. We are so thankful that God would bless us with such wonderful children!!!!

Living in Sapulpa

Well....things have been pretty crazy and non stop around here, but we're having a good time! We absolutely love our new home!!! (pics to come as soon as I get my camera fixed) It is just perfect for us and we wish you could all come over and see us!! The girls love it too! They love our beautiful backyard and the neighborhood park (with splash park on the way!) Our house is just a couple miles from the church so students come over quite often and we love it!

There's not much to do here in Sapulpa, which is good for us cause we definately eat at home more :) but Tulsa is just 15-20 min away so we love going there especially for dates! The people here are great (even though we miss everyone back home greatly!) and we're just about an hour and ten minutes from my parents so I head there quite often.

I did just find out that I will not be able to use my doctor that I absolutely love back in the city. Im having a very hard time dealing with this, but I know the Lord has a reason, so only with His help am I dealing with it. If you think about it please pray that I will find a doctor very quickly here that I love and that meets all our needs.

Im 18 weeks along and already ready to through with this pregnancy! Its definately been a rough one and we can't wait for our sweet baby to be here!

Hopefully I will be able to post more often now that were getting more settled. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Our Big News x2

Well it's been way too long since I have posted on my blog, but needless to say things are pretty crazy around here! (one problem might be that my computer crashed and so I only have Johnny's computer when he's home but when he is home I don't really wanna be sitting on the computer) Anyways...... I'll just get to the point......

Big News #1 - We are moving to Sapulpa, OK! For several months now we have been talking to this fabulous church (First Baptist Sapulpa) and after months of prayer and seeking the Lord for direction, we have taken the job there (youth pastor). So, this Sunday Johnny and I will go in view of a call and then we will be there 2 weeks later. We have already found a home there, so the Lord is already working things out for this quick change. Our home is currently for sale and we are praying it sells very quickly. So please be praying for us during this process and this move because it is going to be especially hard now because......

Big News #2 - WE ARE PREGNANT!!! To be completely honest this came as a complete shock, but are very grateful for the Lord blessing us once again. When we were making this decision the one thing I said to Johnny was that I was so grateful I wasn't going to be pregnant while we were moving and getting adjusted to living somewhere else. So I am now extremely nervous about going through this already emotional move when I am even more of an emotional/sick train wreck :) (Johnny will need extra prayers if you think about it)

So I might not understand the Lord's timing on all this because I don't think overwhelmed even begins to describe how I feel, but we are excited to see what the Lord has in store. And hopefully I won't let my emotions and my selfishness get in the way of the Lord showing Himself to others through our family as we embark on this new journey. We would be so grateful for your prayers during this time!!! Hope everyone has a great week!!!!

Another Week

Well another week has gone by, just a plain ol' boring week. Although it does mean that we are getting closer and closer to DISNEY WORLD!!! The girls (well Addie) can hardly wait! But a few things did happen this week....

1. Haylie is communicating more....not so much talking, but answer questions by nodding or shaking her head and showing us what she wants. So thats very exciting for me because it takes out A LOT of guessing on my part.

2. Also Haylie's personality is really starting to come out and she is an absolute blast!!!

3. The spider sisters (aka Addie and Haylie) played together really well this week (but for some reason the messes seem to be getting bigger!)

4. We had a great play date with a good friend from high school who has two boys the same age as my girls...such an encouraging and refreshing time for me and the girls had a blast!

5. Johnny is home this whole weekend and I am soooooo grateful!!!!!!!!

6. My sister Cass tried out for cheerleader at CHA (she made it) and Addie loved watching and cheering for her Aunt Cass....Now all she wants to do is cheer

It was a great week! Nothing real exciting happened, but I am incredibly grateful for a smooth and fun week. My sweet girls are getting bigger everyday and it's so fun to see what the next day holds for them but it makes me sad at the same time.....time is flying by so quickly!! I'm so grateful it's the weekend and we will see what the Lord has in store for us next week!!!

Just like Mommy

I have the sweetest husband in the entire world!!! Monday he came home from work and said that he would take me shopping for my birthday (which was the next day and was his way of saying I forgot so Ill just just let you get it yourself) So we went to the mall and I picked out what I wanted and we headed home. Nothing super exciting....
The day of my birthday I headed off to meet my mom for lunch at our favorite place, Inspirations Tea Room, and to get pedicures. We had a blast!! When I got home to my great surprise the kitchen was decorated, a cake was made and several presents wrapped! I was shocked! I thought I already had gotten my presents and that was it. But, the best present of all, that he had been so creative in making, was a tray with pictures of the girls on it. These were not your normal pictures of the girls that most people would just rumage through the house looking for the right ones to fit. Johnny actually took the time to dress the girls up in my clothes, jewelry, and bows and take their pictures with cooking utensils and my Bible!!!! It was one of my most favorite gifts ever!!!!

After all the gifts were open and cake eaten, Johnny even redressed the girls so they could take pictures with me. It was so sweet and Im so proud of him for being so creative. I absolutely love all the pictures and we had a blast taking more when I got home!!

So here are a few of my favorite ones.....(more on facebook)

A very long week

Last week was a very long week. It was one of those weeks where I just wanted to sit down and cry by Thursday. Thursday then began start of an even longer weekend! Johnny had the Student Life Conference at our church this weekend, So he was working Thursday Friday and Saturday from 7:30am till usually 11:00pm (Saurday it ended so he got home at 6:30pm). So, they were very long days and we missed Daddy very much!!! But, even though they were tough days, we made it through!

We did have some interesting things happen. As some of you know Addie (who was completely potty trained) decided that she wasn't going to be potty trained anymore. So this weekend we worked very hard to re-learn the process. We haven't gotten there yet but we are getting closer. (if you have any creative ideas, I'd love to hear them)

Haylie has found a huge love for shoes! It's absolutely hilarious! She has to have shoes on all the time and she constantly changes them (well I change them for her) I don't know where her love for shoes came from (well I know its me, but we don't bring that up to her daddy) but I love watching her play with her shoes instead of toys!

Needless to say, we are very glad this weekend is over. I love spending time with my girls but we love when daddy is having fun with us. All I have to say is......60 days till Disney World!!!!!!!! We can hardly wait!!
